Chris Gomez went yard and had 3 RBI as the Chainsaw Proctologists defeated the
Dyersville Jurassics 8 to 3 at the ballpark.
Chainsaw brought 3 runs across the plate in the 4th inning. Jose Vidro led
off and started the attack as he laced a base-knock. Jeff Suppan then
uncorked a pitch that was ruled a passed ball. Julio Franco then drew a
walk. After an out was recorded, Suppan came to the plate and threw one that
got by the catcher for a passed ball which plated a run. Gomez stepped into
the box and popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 2nd of the season).
Chainsaw finished with 12 hits while Dyersville ended up with 9.
Cory Lidle(7-13) got the win allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Chad
Bradford gained credit for his 2nd save. Suppan(11-7) was charged with the
loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 8 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3
innings.
